This
is looking at the Mt. McKinely Building which was the tallest
building in Anchorage in 1964. It is 14 stories high and it did make
it through the quake and in the picture you can see some damage above
the corner windows, but the damage was repaired and it is still in
use today. This picture was taken looking across E 4th ave. to the
North and on a Clear day you can actually see Mt. McKinely (20,320)
which is about 220 miles to the north. |
